Rachael Turner

Founder | Builder

QBCC-licensed builder and multi-award-winning Master Builder, Rachael Turner founded Front Porch Properties with a vision to create modern-classic homes grounded in proportion, detail and timeless design.

The Story Behind Front Porch

From Music to Building

Originally trained as a classical pianist, Rachael completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2005 and ran a music school for ten years.

While music was an important chapter, she felt increasingly drawn toward building and design - an interest she had carried since childhood.

What began as renovating and flipping homes soon gained recognition. Her early projects were featured in leading Australian design magazines, and enquiries quickly followed.

After five years working toward her builder’s licence, she established Front Porch Properties as a full design and construction company.

Design Philosophy

Rachael is known for modern-classic homes that balance old and new, combining timeless design with modern detailing and finishes.

Inspired by American architecture, farmhouses, cottages, Cape Cod homes, barns and coastal houses -her projects prioritise proportion, detail and liveability over trends.

This philosophy now forms the backbone of the Front Porch approach.

The Doors

While building homes, she struggled to find beautiful, classic and affordable off-the-shelf doors suited to the homes she was creating.

In 2022, she began developing her own doors, launching Front Porch Doors - a range of modern-classic doors designed to elevate everyday homes. The collection is now trusted by homeowners, architects and builders across Australia.

Today

As the brand has grown, Rachael continues identifying gaps within the Australian market and has expanded the Front Porch product range to include architectural doors, bathroom vanities, and windows, supporting cohesive, timeless homes.

She has also developed a bathroom course, which is now available through the Front Porch shop, sharing her knowledge and practical approach to creating well-considered spaces.

Rachael remains closely involved in every project from concept to completion alongside her team. Outside of work, she married her husband Mark in September 2025 and enjoys staying active at the gym, spending time outdoors with her family and dog, and prioritising ongoing personal growth and development.
